Khôra 2: Denial

Quelly and Auctan watched with concern as Eou still lay slumped over [apertus designative interface] - their form alternatively still or tense, calm or struggling. The dramatic expulsion of [ORB3::8tgprv3fenu20cr] had caused noticeable damage to Eou's [diagnostic interconnective frame] that still lingered in ways neither of them could analyse, let alone assist with [remedial structurization support].

Fully three new [Originative Reality Beads] had cycled through while they waited, curious and patient and helpless, Eou's form twitching violently with each new reset, their [extenuative appendage] still reaching into the bonded aperture space of the slantwise interconnect that reached the apeiron void that held all.

A sharp, iridescent hum vibrated through the [apertus designative interface]. Writhing multicoloured static flared violently along Eou’s [slantwise extenuative appendage] from the Orb, sending a final, shuddering ripple through their frame.

Then, the violent twitching stopped. The chaotic influx of memories from abandoned neon planets, lonely windswept island cliffs, and colour-starved voids flattened into a jagged low-frequency drone.

Eou had eyes, now, and they blinked, twice, three times as they re-aligned to the local interpretive reality boundary space. The architecture of Stillpoint crystallized around their perception: cold, monumental, walls of pure white, angled facets of pure black. Eight walls that surrounded a central octagonal spire, the inner third of which was absent, the column raising from the floor and lowering from the ceiling each faceted inwards, from which eight writing lines along the edges caged the inner space of the missing third, creating a boundary between the inner space of Stillpoint and the chaotic space of the apeiron void that ran through its center.

Suspended within this space, currently, was the enormous mass of ahm6a82pdxmp8 · O6, as Stillpoint had named the twisting orb that defined the boundary entire reality. A core of certainty surrounded by a field of improbability with a hard edge of impossibility - that was how realities were defined in the apeiron void, the visible twisting colour fields suggestive of the nature of the reality with in.

Realities that Quelly and Auctan were incapable of experiencing. They had tried, repeatedly, when Eou had breached the boundary, reaching out to the Originative Reality Bead contained within. But they were incapable of extending themselves into even the limited apeiron void contained within the apertus space.

"The resonance is decoupling," Auctan observed as Eou withdrew for the first time since they had in their madness of emotion re-entered 8tgprv3fenu20cr · O3.

Auctan's voice carried the precise, rhythmic cadence of Second - structural, measured, yet weighted with an underlying anxiety. "Diagnostic telemetry shows a return to baseline... or whatever baseline remains after such extensive [remedial structuralization support]."

"Do not rush the alignment," Quelly murmured. As the First, Quelly’s presence felt less like a voice and more like a foundational floor, vast and ancient. "They have traveled through three distinct axioms of being. The architecture of the mind requires time to settle back into its masonry."

Eou’s fingers, such as they were, twitched against the Apertus. The phantom sensation of a spaceship’s throttle, a cold Hebridean wind, and the agonizing throb of colour still lingered on their skin like a crawling itch. They groaned, a sound that translated into Stillpoint’s air as a sharp, discordant frequency.

"Where..." Eou’s voice was fractured, caught between the syntax of the Orbs and the reality of the platform. "...where is the rest of it? The signal. The coast. The Colour."

Auctan stepped closer, their form of twisted white and shattered black casting a geometric shadow across Eou's slumped exhausted frame. "The Orbs have cycled out, Eou. They were non-native constructs. Simulations. Refugium data. You were drowning in them."

"I was finding," Eou hissed, their [slantwise extenuative appendage] tightening its grip on the interface, refusing to break the physical bond entirely. Multicoloured static still licked at their wrists. "There were... fragments. A black hole at the center of the universe. A letter to a dead woman. A sister dying in a dying garden. It was there."

Eou forced their head up, looking past Auctan, past Quelly, straight into the yawning void of the apeiron visible within the Apertus space. Their eyes were wide, still reflecting the dying embers of three realities.

"My history. My past. I am searching for the anything that points home, and these… worlds, these - realities are the only hope I have of finding… anything that can teach me how to find… home.” Eou spoke haltingly, with a quiet desperation they didn’t have words to communicate properly.

Quelly’s form shifted, a subtle realignment of mass that felt like a sigh. "What you call history, Eou, the void calls entropy. You are reaching into [graves] expecting to find a living [mother]. The Apertus translates from the void the possibility space of reality that was, not a probability-stabilized futurate reality that is. Not what we have."

"Then why did you wake me up?" Eou demanded, their voice stabilizing, twisting sharper as Stillpoint’s local reality locked them back into place. "If it's just dead [probability], why let it interface with my [frame]?"

"Because you were fading," Auctan said softly, the rigid armor of the Second cracking just enough to show genuine concern. "There were only supposed to be two. We did not expect a [third]. And we hoped that by touching the apeiron, even the [stabilized] [fragments], you would remember how to breathe in the present."

Eou looked down at the Apertus. Beneath the [*****’ of the [interface], the faint, swirling silhouette of a O4 · 9tqj0kb1drkq682kddwg Orb was beginning to recoalesce, waiting for the next cycle. The pull was already there - a magnetic, agonizing gravity.

“No," Eou whispered, their hand refusing to let go. "You don’t know anything more than I do. You don’t even know what I am. You don’t KNOW."

Eou lunged towards O4 · 9tqj0kb1drkq682kddwg before it had finished fully forming and
